Snooker
Room
Opening Hours: Daily 11:00A.M. - 10:30P.M.
- The General Committee may, at its discretion, close the Billiards
Room at any time and, with or without charge for admission, make it
available
to anybody for any purpose as it thinks fit.
- Use of the Billiards Room
is restricted to Members and their spouses, Nominated Guests of Single
Members, Guests and dependents over 18 years
of age and Visiting Reciprocal/Affiliate Members. Guests are permitted
on weekdays only, excluding Public Holidays. Learners must be accompanied
by an experienced player.
- Members’ Children between 15 and 18
years of age are permitted to play in the Billiards Room only if accompanied
by a Member or a child,
aged 18 years or over, of a Member. Children under 15 years of age
are NOT permitted to enter the Billiards Room, either to spectate or
to play,
unless special permission has been obtained from the Manager.
- Dependents
over the age of 18 years are not permitted to play at any time if Members
are waiting to play but will be allowed to complete
any
game in progress. This may be waived if playing with three Members
in a foursome.
- Smoking is not permitted at, near or over the tables.
- No food
of any description is to be served or consumed in the Billiards Room
other than as may be arranged on special occasions at any time.
- Members and Guests shall conduct themselves in a quiet manner so
as not to interfere with any game in progress. Reasonable silence must
be
observed
at all times.
- Only billiards, snooker and recognized variations of these games
may be played. Billiards Five and other violent or unorthodox games
are strictly
forbidden.
- No articles other than those required for play are to be placed
on the tables.
- Any damage to the tables and equipment must be reported
immediately to the Manager. Any Member who, or whose Guest, damages
the tables
and/or equipment shall be responsible for making good such damage,
the cost
of which shall be debited to the Member’s account. (See also
By-law 17)
- Use of the tables by guests is subject to normal Club
rules regarding use of facilities by Guests. A table may not be occupied
solely by
Guests. Members of visiting sports teams may only use the tables if
playing with
a Member.
- Billiards and snooker balls are available from the Reception
Desk on the Ground Floor against the user’s signature.
- . The
minimum standard for gentlemen is sports shirts with collars and
smart/tidy trousers. Ladies are required to wear a comparable standard
of dress.
- Club cues are available for use and are stored in the Club lockers.
Such cues are to be replaced in those lockers when not being used.
Table rests are provided with stowage at the ends and sides of tables
and are
to be replaced in their stowage racks after use.
- Mobile telephones
and pagers are not permitted.
