Lawn Bowls Green

The Club Lawn Bowls Section will celebrate its 70th Birthday in 2006. There are two lawn bowls surfaces at HKCC - one which is formed in a corner of the cricket outfield. This is in use after the cricket season, during the summer, when the banks are raised and lighting installed. It has six rinks with an excellent playing surface. There is also an artificial rooftop all-season "green".

HKCC is represented by two Men's teams and one Ladies', the main Hong Kong Lawn Bowls Association League season being in the summer months. There is also a Winter League.

During the year, various competitions are featured, including Club Championships, the famous John Younghusband Trophy and 1st July Handover Competition. There is also a popular programme for newcomers to the sport, "Lawn Bowls for Beginners".

The Main Green and the Artificial Green will be open from 8:30 A.M. until 11:00 P.M. or at such other times as may be determined by the General Committee.

- No person , whether a player or not , may enter , stand or play on the Main Bowls Green or the Artificial Green unless wearing approved blown or white shoes with smooth, flat soles and without any heels Standing or walking on the banks of the Main Green is forbidden.

- Players are required to wear predominantly White or cream clothing.

- Smoking and the consumption of food and beverages is strictly forbidden on or near the Artificial Green.

- Club bowls which have been used for games or matches played on the Artificial Green must be returned to the bowls rack at the Sportsman's Bar or to the Bowls store-room after use.
